Fantine
In the story of Les Misérables, Fantine is a character who has had several poor experiences in her life time. Fantine's first experience that changed her life and how she acts as a person is when she has to give her daughter Cosette to strangers, also known as the Thenardiers', to watch over her while she found work. While that experience was enough to change her, she lost her job working in a factory after only a few weeks. After loosing her job, she had to find a way of income to support her child and in her case it was not easy. Her second experience that changed her was when she had to cut off all her hair to send money to the Thenardiers' for a new skirt. Fantine received 40 francs for her hair and immediately sent it to them in worry of Cosette. Her third experience was having to have her incisors removed and selling them for 10 francs so Cosette's illness could be cured. A character she most relates to is definitely Jean Valjean because they have both went through a lot of suffering and pain and changed a person for the better to become stronger.
